A dear friend and great lady has passed to her Heavenly
				reward:
Marion Hurley passed away in her home on Tuesday, September
15, 2009. She would have been 96 on her upcoming birthday,
				December 4, 2009.
No truer patriot has been known since the days of the
Founding Fathers! She fought against bad legislation and fought
for the passage of good legislation. Senior Editor of The New
American magazine, William F. Jasper considered Marion a
				mentor.
Her family has asked that instead of flowers, donations be
made to UROC, P.O. Box 80575, San Marino, CA 91118. Marion was
Co-Chairman of UROC for about 20 years.

				MY VETO WAS OVERRIDDEN

In 1970, my predecessor as Director of the U.S. Office of
Economic Opportunity (OEO), Frank Carlucci provided initial
				taxpayer funding for ACORN.
When I became Director in 1973, I cut off all funding for
ACORN. Following my departure as head of the agency, ACORN
funding was restored and that rogue organization has been
				milking the taxpayers ever since.
